Braw Gifts™ is a colourful Scottish gift brand bringing together Scottish humour, character, contemporary design and everyday things people actually want to use.

Created on the Isle of Bute by Scottish multimedia artist and creative entrepreneur Nicola Jones, Braw Gifts takes familiar pieces of Scotland — Highland coos, tartan, sheep, seaside characters, humour, colour and a good dose of personality — and gives them a fresh, playful twist.

The result is a growing collection of gifts designed to be useful, memorable and, most importantly, make somebody smile.

From mugs and kitchenware to bags, cosy gifts, clogs, children's products and curated gift boxes, Braw Gifts is building a modern Scottish gifting world for customers at home and further afield.

THE STORY

Braw Gifts™ began with a simple idea:

What if Scottish gifts could be a little more fun?

Scotland has an extraordinary visual identity, sense of humour and culture, but Scottish gifting doesn't always need to be traditional.

Braw Gifts takes inspiration from Scotland without taking itself too seriously.

A Highland cow can have a personality.

A flock of tartan sheep can take over a tea towel.

A seagull can become obsessed with your chips.

And tartan can be bold, contemporary and unexpected.

What started with individual ideas has gradually developed into a connected world of characters, collections and products — all held together by colour, humour and Scottish personality.

At the heart of Pure Braw™ are three Scottish characters who are rapidly developing lives of their own.

MR MOO COO™

Cosy, cheeky and always up for an adventure.

Shaggy, lovable and proudly wrapped in tartan, Mr Moo Coo™ is our Highland character with plenty of personality.

He's found his way onto mugs, bags, kitchenware, clothing and gifts — and he's quite comfortable making himself at home.

Particularly in the kitchen.

PADDY BAA™

Warm, woolly and baa-rilliant.

Paddy Baa™ brings the cosy side of Scotland to the Braw Bunch.

Sweet, cheerful and usually wrapped in tartan, Paddy appears across gifts, accessories, kitchenware and cosy products.

When there's baking involved, however, things can get slightly more energetic.

MR SEAGULL™

Cheeky, noisy and probably after your chips.

Anyone who has spent time in a Scottish seaside town already knows Mr Seagull.

Confident, curious and permanently interested in somebody else's lunch, he brings a bit of familiar Scottish coastal humour to the collection.

PURE BRAW™

Pure Braw™ is the colourful, character-led side of the Braw Gifts world.

The collection combines Scottish-inspired design with humour, tartan, bold graphics and everyday products.

Alongside the Braw Bunch™, Pure Braw™ Bold provides a more graphic, contemporary collection for customers who love the attitude and colour of the brand without necessarily wanting a character-led design.

The aim is simple:

BRAW CLOGS™

Braw Clogs™ takes one of the world's most practical casual shoes and gives it a Scottish personality.

Colourful tartans, bold patterns and Braw character designs turn everyday clogs into something much more playful.

The collection includes designs for adults and children and forms a distinctive standalone range within Braw Gifts™.

Practical. Comfortable. Definitely not beige.

THE BRAW GIFT BOX™

The Braw Gift Box™ brings individual products together into ready-to-give Scottish gift experiences.

Designed for birthdays, celebrations, thank-yous, Christmas, friendship, new homes and those “I saw this and thought of you” moments, the boxes combine Braw products with carefully selected complementary treats.

The collection is currently developing to include character-led and seasonal gift boxes featuring combinations such as mugs, tea towels, Scottish tea, home fragrance and treats.

Each box is designed to feel like a proper present from the moment it arrives.

A wee box full of Braw things.

SCOTTISH ADVENT™

Scottish Advent™ brings a distinctly Scottish twist to the countdown to Christmas.

Developed as part of the wider Braw gifting world, the concept celebrates Scotland through seasonal gifting, humour, surprises and products designed to make December a little more fun.

The collection forms an important seasonal part of Braw Gifts™, with new ideas and editions continuing to develop.

ABOUT THE FOUNDER

NICOLA JONES

Multimedia Artist • Storyteller • Creative Entrepreneur

Braw Gifts™ was created by Nicola Jones, a Scottish multimedia artist based on the Isle of Bute.

Nicola studied multimedia in Glasgow, completing a BSc in Multimedia at Glasgow Caledonian University in 2000, and has spent more than twenty-five years working across art, digital media, photography, education, storytelling, design, community projects and creative enterprise.

Her work explores what happens when art, ideas, storytelling and technology come together.

Alongside Braw Gifts™, Nicola has developed creative brands including The Highland Dancer® and Happy Tartan®, with her wider practice encompassing illustration, publishing, character development, fashion, product design and storytelling.

Her approach often begins with one small idea.

An image becomes a character.

A character develops a personality.

A personality creates a story.

A story becomes a product.

And sometimes the product becomes an entire brand.

Braw Gifts™ is the latest chapter in that ongoing creative practice.

DESIGNED ON THE ISLE OF BUTE

Braw Gifts™ is developed on the Isle of Bute on Scotland's west coast.

Island life naturally finds its way into the brand.

The Highland coos.

The sheep.

The sea.

The seagulls.

The weather.

The tartan.

And the very Scottish ability to find humour in almost anything.

The brand combines those familiar influences with contemporary illustration, digital design, character development and ecommerce to create a Scottish gift range for a modern audience.
